Midshipman Mallary Final Storyreel

By Solomon's Team

Description: Here is my finalcut of Midshipman Mallary, where Eddy Mallary, a well intended but arrogant duck, is enrolling to the US Naval Academy to prove himself to his parents. It is an intriguing, yet hilarious storyreel and I hope you guys enjoy seeing my very own “Wacky Creatures” and the crazy adventures they go on. Enjoy!

True to your word, this reel was very funny. I enjoyed watching it a lot, as a comedy fan. I don't know if this is your style of storytelling or not, but I found that from the beginning of the story up till about 3 minutes in, there seemed to be an unnecessary amount of dialogue given to some of the characters. Again, I'm not meaning to be picky, but it just felt as though I was being overloaded with dialogue. My favorite part was when Eddy was forced to watch American propaganda--I had a good chuckle at that one. I also found it interesting that Eddy didn't actually get much character development. He went to the navy, quit after facing troubles, and either decided to try something else or went back to mooching off his parents. :D Overall, funny story and good luck in the exhibition!

Thank you for your reply Nikitha! The dialogue will certainly be somewhat cut down in the final cut (which I might release on my YouTube channel, Sloan Presents), but I like to add a couple of little jokes and quirks to some of the characters in the beginning, before getting to the real meat and potatoes of the story. I do see how it could across as a bit much at times as well. Eddy is still certainly an egotist and somewhat of a dummy by the end, but acknowledges that he can’t outsmart or prove to everyone that he is a good student at the naval academy (even if they already found him to be pretty overbearing). He’s still the same guy by the end, but he knows when he’s been beat, especially by the colonel of the naval academy. I really do appreciate these comments and I am glad that you found it be very funny! Thank you very much
